Nous explorons le langage sonore imperceptible, fugitif et aléatoire de ces espaces intermédiaires que sont les ponts. À l’aide de microcontacts placés sur leurs structures, nous enregistrons les vibrations inaudibles induites par le déplacement des voitures. Ces lieux de transition ont des empreintes acoustiques spécifiques inhérentes à leurs surfaces, à leurs matérialités et leurs résonances fluctuent, selon l’intensité du trafic routier. À travers ces dispositifs routiers, il se détache des entre-espaces sonores insoupçonnés qui activent ou redéfinissent notre perception acoustique de ces architectures. Une volonté d’être à l’écoute des réalités sonores distinctes de notre monde matériel permet de dégager une expérience singulière de l’apparente banalité acoustique de ces milieux transitionnels. Les sons enregistrés sont réarrangés.

For an optimal listening experience, the use of headphones or external speakers is strongly recommended.

We explores the imperceptible, transient and random language of sound uttered by the intermediary spaces of bridges. With the help of custom-built microcontacts placed on their structures, we record the inaudible vibrations created by the moving vehicles. By using various microphones, we also capture the ambient sound landscape in each selected location. These transitional places have specific sound footprints inherent to their surfaces, their materiality, and their resonances fluctuate according to the flow of traffic. Through these roadway devices, we can pinpoint unsuspected sound interspaces that activate or redefine our acoustic perception of these architectures. The willingness of being dynamically attentive to the distinctive sound realities of our material world allows to experience in a unique way the apparent acoustic mundaneness of these transitional environments. All sounds collected are rearranged.
